The State-owned "Mortgage and Land Bank of Latvia” gradualy increases the proportion of promotional programmes in its business activities by decreasing consumer and mortgage lending. The Bank’s main priority is lending to businesses.
In accordance with the Government declaration, the state-owned "Mortgage and Land Bank of Latvia” plans to submit to the Ministry of Finance in September a conceptual solution on ways of creation of a development bank on the existing basis of the Bank. In year 2006, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia confirmed the Bank’s development concept until 2013, which outlined a gradual turning of the Bank into a full range development bank.
